[neomutt-users] Slow startup with 20230322 when using mbox files

I've been using 20230322 on my laptop for a few days without problems so
I thought I'd build it on my work server.

It takes ~7 seconds before this version will show me my (empty or almost
empty) inbox, during which it says things like

    Reading /home-ssd/mg/Mail/INBOX...

(when the INBOX is empty) or

    Sorting mailbox...

(when it is not).

If I hit ^C during this time, I'll see hints that it's actually parsing
all of my inboxes because I get messages like

    Reading from /home-ssd/mg/Mail/IN.pypy interrupted...

and then it continues to be slow.

I have about 30 mailboxes comprising about 4 gigs of data in ~/Mail/IN.*.
If I exclude the largest one (at 1.5 GB) then startup time shrinks to
5.2 seconds.

I have tried to open each of my inbox in this new build to populate the
header cache, which didn't help any. (Are header caches even used for
mbox files?)

I'm not sure what to do. Roll back to an older version? I wish I had
at least recorded which version I had built before...
