This seems to be false.  I now realise it looks like an interaction
between IMAP definitions that do and do not have the username in them.
There is a reason lost in the mists of my memory as to why I had to do
that (it was I know something I did prior to 2016, but more than that
I can't recall.  This is why I should comment my config files).
Anyway, I'll investigate more and if I figure it out I'll post an
update.
