when attaching files - why is there only *one* line of dialog?
why cant we see some more commands - and a directory chooser?!

example for a dialog with three lines:

NeoMutt 20170714 | File Browser Menu | Current Directory: /home/user/guckes
  Commands: ?: select files from currdir| m: change mask 1="!^\.[^.]" 2="^[.]"
  Dir Chooser: d: 1:/tmp 2:~/work 3:/etc =:~/Mail | c: change dir to /path

example for a dialog with some more lines:

NeoMutt 20170714 | File Browser Menu | Current Directory: /home/user/guckes
  Commands: ?: select files from currdir| m: change mask 1="!^\.[^.]" 2="^[.]"
  d: Directory Chooser:
  1:/tmp 2:~/work 3:/etc =:~/Mail
  4:~/share/doc/neomutt/vim-keybindings
  5:~/alpine-2.20.999/web/cgi/alpine/2.0/help/popup/_notes

i am not claiming this is the best kind of dialog.
but i am asking: why not add some more lines to it?

i mean.. hardly anyone really looked at the help
to even see what commands are available there.
it could all be so much more comfortable!

and maybe that would help us all to *see* what neomutt
currently knows about directories. (hello, Andrew!)

who really wants to keep using those commands
which are "hidden" in the help menu just
to find out about its effect to see whether
it really uses the current other directory?

a new dialog with more information might just
be one of the things that new users want.
and, yes, maybe another option to keep it
the old way - for the "purists". :-P

i remember beta-testing a nice directory chooser tool
on macintosh some ~20 years ago which remembered the
last 10/20 files and directories and gave you
some hotkeys to access them fast. cool stuff!

always wondered why Apple never threw money at the author
to acquire this tool into their operating system.. hmm..

ps: can we please make every menu show the realname of the program
with its version number and the name of the current dialog/menu
so that every user always knows what he is using and its context?
this will also be every helpful with every
bug report which includes a screenshot.
(dejavu.. been saying that since the 1990s..)

Sven
