No, that only means to drop support for older deprecated systems
at major versions (like 2.0) and make a proper statement about it.

It wouldn't be fair that a perso who've run for 15 years the latest mutt
on his AIX4 — there's a hell just for people doing that — see support
for his system dropped while upgrading to 1.7.5 without notice.

No serious application does that, and it's perfectly normal.
